Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates' main swordsman, one of their two swordsmen, and a top officer of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet, as well as a former bounty hunter. Born in the East Blue, Zoro is the son of Tera and Roronoa Arashi, grandson of Shimotsuki Furiko and Roronoa Pinzoro, and great-nephew of Shimotsuki Ushimaru, making him a matrilineal descendant of both the Shimotsuki family of Wano Country and the legendary samurai Shimotsuki Ryuma.[8] He was the first member to join the crew and is considered part of the Monster Trio along with Luffy and Sanji. His dream is to become the world's greatest swordsman. Zoro, along with his captain, is also considered one of the Eleven Supernovas who are part of "the Worst Generation."
