Timón es uno de los dos tritagonistas junto con Pumba de la película animada de Disney de 1994 , El Rey León , y protagonista de la película de 2004 , El Rey León. Es un suricato ingenioso y el mejor amigo de Pumba, un jabalí. Aunque proviene de una familia trabajadora, Timón lleva una vida tranquila, comiendo y durmiendo, bajo una filosofía de "sin problemas" llamada " Hakuna Matata ".
