PerchPod — 3D Printable Bird Feeder for Small BirdsDesign ConceptThe PerchPod is a simple, modern bird feeder made for tiny garden birds. Its smooth, cylindrical shape blends naturally into outdoor spaces while adding a clean, contemporary touch. The round openings create a tunnel that small birds can feed through from either side, with a small front perch for comfort and balance.PurposeI designed the PerchPod to give small birds a safe, cozy spot to enjoy birdseed or tallow balls. It’s compact enough for balconies and gardens, but sturdy enough to stay put through the seasons. Whether you’re in a city courtyard or a quiet backyard, it fits right in.Printing AdviceFor outdoor use, print it in PETG or ABS for better weather resistance. A high infill (around 40–60%) will give it extra strength, and supports may help around the openings depending on your printer setup. PLA works too for indoor or sheltered areas. (MAKE SURE TO SCALE IT TO DESIRED SIZE CORRECTLY) since the model files are very smallAssembly NotesThe design prints in separate ring sections that fit snugly together — a tiny dab of superglue can secure them, but go light on it. Once assembled, use zip ties, wire, or string to mount it to a branch, fence, or hook. Drop in your tallow ball or seed, and you’re good to go.
