Lacking space for a bedside table, I designed these shelves to fit into the headboard, and added a small fixing bracket to stick underneath, so I could screw it in if necessary. Personally, I didn't need to do this, as the shelves fit into the headboard with just a little force and hold perfectly in place, making them easy to move around. The headboard is 18.3mm thick.
