Il était une fois un elfe nommé Eryndor qui aimait se promener dans les bois enchantés de sa contrée. Un jour, alors qu'il flânait tranquillement, il aperçut un escargot qui rampait sur une branche d'arbre. Eryndor décida de s'approcher pour saluer l'escargot et entama la conversation : "Bonjour mon ami l'escargot, comment vas-tu aujourd'hui ?" "Très bien, merci" répondit l'escargot d'une voix fluette. Eryndor trouva cela étonnant de parler avec un escargot, mais il se sentait très à l'aise avec lui. Ils discutèrent pendant un moment de la beauté du bois et des créatures qui y vivaient. Finalement, Eryndor se leva pour partir et dit à l'escargot : "Je dois y aller maintenant, mais j'espère te revoir bientôt." L'escargot répondit : "Je serai toujours là, lentement mais sûrement. À bientôt, mon ami elfe."
