The main part of the helmet, the skull, is ball-shaped, with a crest, a bevor, and a double visor with two eye-slits and openings for breathing. On the back side, at the base of the crest, there is a container for a plume. The bevor has two parts and three segments. The edges are trimmed with a motif of a twisted string and lines with marks of gilding. It is an example of a closed helmet that protects the entire head of a soldier. It represents the decadent phase of development of this type of armament, the early days of which date back to the 16 thcentury, when movable face covers started to be fixed to helmets. Close helmets were perfected at the close of the Middle Ages when they were produced in many variants. They lost their importance due to the development of firearms and resignation of full plate armours, and were replaced with various kinds of open helmets (eg so-called pappenheimers ). | Download free and paid 3D printable STL files
