The Session Extender, which can be mounted on the optical call button of an Easymeter Q3A electricity meter, causes an IR diode to flash briefly every 10 seconds in order to keep the electricity meter in extended mode for the long term. As long as the electricity meter is in extended mode, the extended output format is output at the INFO-DSS interface. Without the Session Extender, the electricity meter reverts to normal mode after 120 seconds and no longer provides accurate measured values at the INFO-DSS interface. In extended mode, for example, a Tibber Pulse IR (https://tibber.com/de/pulse) for an hourly-based electricity tariff (successfully tested) or a People meter (https://volkszaehler.org) (not yet tested) can be used on the INFO-DSS interface.
