Designed these 60mm risers for my Onefinity CNC Machine. Nearly 1” of aluminum for structure and stiffness, 3D printed spacers to locate the aluminum plates. Everything is a single-sided operation, and the layers are symmetrical so there are only 2 parts to cut, and 1 part to print. The inside corners are relieved… The 3D prints are undersized slightly so all of the stress goes through the aluminum plates (to keep things square)… And there is deliberate clearance on the bolt holes so that the sandwich layers can shift into alignment when you tighten down the M6 bolts holding the Z axis in place. You can tell the aluminum is properly stiff because the bolts come to a hard stop. Total Z increase is 60 mm (6.5”) and as long as you shift the spindle down in the mount you can still reach the wasteboard and fully retract. Should have plenty of room for a dust boot and vacuum table now. You can either lift the X-axis with 2 of these, or lift the Y axis with 4 of them. Personally I like just lifting the X-axis with 2. I've included the F3D file so you can modify as needed with Fusion.
