He wasn’t forged—he oozed into existence when molten rock absorbed the rage of a collapsing mountain. Every crack in his glowing skin is a scar from the pressure of the world above him. Unlike towering fire demons, Cindergrub is small, dense, and stubborn. His body is packed with heat, making him deceptively heavy and nearly impossible to extinguish. When volcanoes sleep, he wanders their caverns, feeding on residual heat and simmering resentment left behind by ancient eruptions. Cindergrub doesn’t roar or rampage without reason. He hates being disturbed. Miners, treasure hunters, or anyone foolish enough to dig too deep awakens his fury. When angered, the cracks along his body flare brighter, lava seeping out as the ground trembles beneath him. He advances slowly—but once he starts moving, the earth follows. Legends say if Cindergrub ever reaches the surface, a volcano will erupt wherever he stands. That’s why the mountains keep him buried… and why the ground sometimes growls when no one is around.
