This MasterSpool Design is inspired by Richard Horne's masterspool idea to avoid waste and reduce shipping weight. My intention was to reduce the amount of filament and printing time, needed to build this spool. With this in mind I changed the threated locking mechanism to sort of a bayonet catch. I ended up with this lightweight but rigid "Universalspool Twist and Lock". Every spool consists of 3 parts the hub two side parts (same file printed 2 times) futhermore you will need an opening tool. One tool should serve for all your spools Depending on the manufacturer you will need a certain hub size. Choose the parts you need from the table below.In order to cover the large bandwidth of different coils on the market, I had to develop 2 types: Type-s is for filament coils with small inner diameter, in a range from 76mm to 92mm Type-l is intended coils with large inner diameter (98mm to 130mm) All parts of the same type are compatible with each other.
