📍 Information: The POM-3 antipersonnel fragmentation mine was developed at the Scientific Research Engineering Institute (NIII), part of the Techmash Scientific and Production Corporation. Research and development work under the codename "Medallion" was conducted in the first half of the 2010s, and in 2015, the developer first publicly disclosed it. Later, the new weapon's appearance, technical features, and some of its specifications became known. By the end of the decade, the mine began to be displayed at public events and was also the subject of press publications and television reports. By now, the Medallion has passed all necessary testing and has been accepted into service with the Russian engineering troops.
