Burr-storage system

I decided to create a convenient burr-storage system for my rotary tool. Sure, there are plenty of ready-made options out there, and you can always just drill a bunch of holes in a wooden block. But I wanted to come up with something more universal — a system that anyone could customize to their needs, to the number and size of their burrs, and even modify later if needed. So, after identifying the main types of burrs used in rotary tools, I modelled small individual blocks in Fusion and designed a simple mechanism to connect them together. Here you can see blocks with holes designed for burrs with shank diameters of 2.3 mm and 3.2 mm. There are also blocks made for different diameters of the burrs themselves, or other working attachments. In addition, there is a part called the “BOX limiter”, which limits the depth of the holes for burrs with short shanks.
