Anubis Bust Anubis is an ancient Egyptian deity associated with mummification, the afterlife, and the protection of graves. Often depicted as a man with the head of a jackal or as a full jackal, Anubis was believed to guide the souls of the dead through the underworld. He also played a crucial role in the embalming process, overseeing the mummification of the deceased to ensure safe passage to the afterlife. Anubis was considered a protector of tombs, guarding the dead from evil forces. Over time, his role evolved, and he was also linked to the judgment of souls, where he weighed the hearts of the deceased against the feather of Ma'at, the goddess of truth.
