Firefighter helmets

Flamethrower armored infantry squads frequently complained about impractical helmets. Standard tactical helmets are well suited for conventional theaters of war, but flamethrowers often have to work in conditions more akin to conflagration: burning debris, high temperatures, and the constant threat of ignition. These conditions, specific to their combat mission, are often self-inflicted. Due to frequent requests from flamethrowers (especially from the newly formed "Inferno" units), the Red Planet Central Design Bureau revived ancient emergency response equipment and began developing specialized helmets. The resulting model combined ancient design with modern materials. Improved air filtration and humidification technologies were adapted, a more practical upper helmet shape for fire-hazardous conditions was introduced, and special fire-resistant visors with an integrated shielding system were added. It all looked, of course, terribly archaic (which isn't surprising for Martian machine-worshippers), but the helmets' practicality was noted by everyone who volunteered to test them. Not to mention that these helmets looked very stylish and provided a welcome change of pace among the line armored infantry. Unfortunately, the helmets never saw widespread use and are still formally in the prototype stage. However, if you're looking to visually distinguish your "Inferno" unit, then the Firefighter-class helmets are just what you need.
