The aim of this design is to develop a straightforward and easy-to-construct machine. All key dimensions—X, Y, Z, and gantry clearance—are fully parameterized by the user, and the system is compatible with both NEMA 23 and NEMA 34 stepper motors. To ensure the ball screws are mounted as close to the frame as possible, FK/FF15 bearing blocks are implemented on the Y axis instead of the more commonly used BK/BF types. The X and Y axes are equipped with 20 mm linear rails and ball screws, while the Z axis utilizes 15 mm rails along with a 16 mm ball screw. Additionally, a fully separate Z-axis assembly is provided, featuring 20 mm rails and a ball screw, and it is also designed to support a NEMA 34 stepper motor if required.
