This finely detailed bronze statuette of a falcon originates from the Bronze age, roughly 664-332 B.C. Like many other falcons used in Egypt at this time (explore the British Museum Falcon here) they were used to decorate a sarcophagus which would hold an embalmed body of a deceased animal or human. This object is part of "Scan The World". Scan the World is a non-profit initiative introduced by MyMiniFactory, through which we are creating a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks and landmarks from across the globe for the public to access for free.
