Stack Fidget

Spin! Make patterns! Satisfying sounds! My family loves to play with these Stack Fidgets. My students enjoy them too. Easy prints for ends of spools. With different colors, textures, and styles, there are so many possibilities! Fully 3D Printed! Included tiles: Plain (solid or use infill patterns with 0 top layers) Striped (two models together for multi-color printing) Single Color Striped (single color printing or filament swaps) Quadrants (multi-color printing) The fidgets hold about 17 plates. Ones with 16 tend to spin somewhat faster and 18 should fit on one rod. Two styles of rods included (circle and square). Each has a threaded end cap. We like the striped ones the best since they create fun patterns on the side when stopped. It's a bit of a game to make the spin stop quickly with a finger and see how much of a clear pattern appears and/or how many edges don't match the majority. We compare with each other to see who gets the closest to a perfect pattern. With a single-color printer, a similar effect is achieved with the "Single Color Striped" plate. This could also be printed in two colors with a filament swap. The "Stack Fidget" was inspired by a failed print. I had a pile of 20 striped squares with holes when a plate full of prints intended for magnets failed. They were fun to spin on my finger, so we made a rod to hold them and a new toy was born!
