I have an HD projector, that I wanted to mount to the ceiling. Problem is, most projector mount are specific, needing a specific mounting plate. So I put this one together, making it generic. It is inspired by Wade's design, which gave me a great starting point, but needed to be a bit more secure and made generic. The original is here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4146 Firstly, I added a ceiling securing ring which can be used (as an additional item) to add support for particularly heavy items. Simply drill holes in the ceiling, and from the upstairs floor void slip the ring on the bolts and tighten them. Wade's original design had 1 flaw in that the Projector Plate is specific, so I separated the plate into a Plate Mount, and separate Plate which fasten together using 4 x M3 Nuts and Bolts with Washers. In this way, you only need a plate specific to your projector, but the rest is universal. (n.b. my projector is quite large, meaning I needed to print the plate in 2 separate sections but this doesn't affect the finished mount once it's bolted together). Kudos to Wade for the original design, but hopefully you'll find this useful. (n.n.b - it can also be used to mount different items too!)
