Axonal segment synapsing with a dendritic spine was chosen from an electron microscope data stack and manually segmented to obtain a 3D reconstruction. Segmentations were then extracted and processed using Blender into the finished model you're seeing here. Real life size X: 3.70 μm Y: 0.65 μm Z: 1.35 μm To ensure anyone's hardware will be able to handle the complex geometry, there are 3 versions of different detail levels: 1. High detail - 1 163 MB - Vertices: 11 907 370 - Faces: 11 906 032 2. Medium detail - 291 MB - Vertices: 2 977 111 - Faces: 2 976 077 3. Lower detail - 73 MB - Vertices: 745 009 - Faces: 744 315
