简介
X15 The North American X-15 was a hypersonic rocket-powered aircraft operated by the United States Air Force and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration as part of the X-plane series of experimental aircraft. The X-15 set speed and altitude records in the 1960s, reaching the edge of outer space and returning with valuable data used in aircraft and spacecraft design. The X-15's official world record for the highest speed ever recorded by a manned, powered aircraft, set in October 1967 when William J. "Pete" Knight flew Mach 6.72 at 102,100 feet (31,120 m), a speed of 4,520 miles per hour (7,274 km/h), has remained unchallenged as of May 2017. This model has 3 parts, not including the stand. To print these parts it is recommended to have a 3D printer with a build volume of around 200mm x 200mm x 200mm. I prefer to print parts one by one to avoid ugly stringing lines in-between each part, however feel free to group STL files into a single print session if it suits you. When orienting the parts for printing always make them stand up vertically and make sure the flat sides are facing down sitting on the bed. No supports are required at all. A word about slicer software. There are many slicers available free or paid. Each have their strengths and weaknesses. I have tried most of them and so far in my opinion the best free slicer is Cura and the best paid one I recommend is Simplyfy 3D. Although its not free, I find it has so many cool and useful features that help me…
