Background: Protein purification can be done by gravity (low cost, medium footprint) or by using expensive systems such as AKTAs (high cost, big footprint).What I needed to do: purify proteins at a small scale without the use of expensive systems in a small lab space.The problem: Gravity purification make use of retort stands to hold a single polyprep column containing the purification resin. These stands take up space which we did not have.The solution: We designed a holder for a polyprep column with a small footprint to enable gravity purification of proteinsAssembly:Fill the dripper with fine sand or i used Iodised salt and insert plug once full
