Ecto 1 - Whelen Strobe Light.The Whelen Strobe light is the light found in the centre front of the roof. Mounted between the Red Federal Signal and the Federal Siren. The Strobe used for Ecto 1 is an aircraft strobe, Specifically the Whelen HRDF-A-14/28 Self Contained Strobe.This Whelen Strobe is designed by taking measurements of an original Strobe Light. (However scale may vary due to not being able to get a real physical strobe, only the technical drawings)Ideally the lens should be printed from a clear resin using an SLA printer.This Strobe is not certified for FAA use on real aircraft and is only intended to be used as a prop.To build this Strobe you will need:1x M3 x 8 or M3 x 10 (for the clamping ring)9x M4 x 8A high temp plastic is recommended for this print as it would be exposed to direct sunlight. ASA, ABS or PETG. Once painted the UV properties of the plastic would be negated.
