Film Synopsis: The story tells the adventures of a frightening-looking but essentially kind-hearted green ogre who lives alone in a swamp. He makes a deal with Lord Farquaad to rescue the fairy tale characters banished to his swamp and sets off with Donkey to rescue Princess Fiona from the dragon. Meaning: The name "Shrek" is derived from the German word "Schreck" (fear, terror).
