Who is Bruce Banner? Bruce Banner is a brilliant, introverted, and gentle nuclear physicist. The Accident: During a military gamma bomb experiment, he sacrifices himself to save an innocent teenager (Rick Jones) who enters the test site, resulting in his exposure to high doses of gamma radiation. The Birth of the Green Giant: As a result of this accident, Banner begins to transform into a gigantic, green-skinned, uncontrollable monster whenever he gets angry, stressed, or scared.
