Each medium Gemstone Egg uses only 57 grams of filament, which is just about how much filament a 60% dragon will take and even less filament than the Dragon Scale Egg! There is also more internal space in the Gemstone Egg, so you'll be able to fit a wider variety of models inside of it. Just give it a squeeze and and they'll pop right open! The unique design allows for maximum internal space and minimal material usage while still remaining strong. This means that you'll be able to fit much larger items in these eggs and they print way faster and with much less material than any other eggs out there! Good bed adhesion is very important for the tops of the eggs. I've improved this model to have some extra surface on the first couple of layers to add some extra adhesion. Some filaments with poor bed adhesion will benefit from a small internal brim. I generally avoid external brims to keep the outer surface as smooth as possible. Printing slower will help make the eggs nice and shiny, smooth, strong, and reduces the risk of them getting knocked off of the build plate. Printing faster, especially with silk filaments, tends to create a more matte finish. For the best possible appearance and a smoother closing action, I recommend that you apply variable layer height with quality set to 0.25 and radius set to 10. It only adds a few minutes for each egg, but in my testing it made a big difference in the quality of the print. | Download free and paid 3D printable STL files
