The Manticore is a creature bred not by nature or accidental magic, but by the dark arts of ancient empires. It was originally engineered for two specific purposes: to serve as a monstrous battle-mount for elite, brutal cavalry, and to act as a living executioner. The beast’s composition is derived from three core ingredients: the body of a large, powerful Lion for mobility and strength; the face and upper torso of a Human (always male) for the ability to articulate commands and instill psychological fear; and the tail and stinger of a giant Scorpion, which delivers a unique, paralyzing neurotoxin rather than a simple venom.
