🖨️ Stackable Laptop DVD Drive Enclosure – Because Sometimes You Just Need Seven!So I was messing about with an ARM Docker image (don’t ask why—it just happened), and it needed multiple DVDs to get things running. Naturally, I turned to slim laptop DVD drives because they’re compact, easy to power over USB, and I had a few lying around. But once I got more than two going, my desk looked like a tangle of techno-noodles.Enter: the 3D printer.I designed this lightweight, stackable enclosure to keep things neat, expandable, and just a little bit satisfying. It uses a simple peg system so you can keep adding drives whenever you find another one in your junk drawer (we all have one). The design even staggers the drives slightly to create a tidy, tower-like look that actually works well and looks great doing it.I’m using cheap USB-to-laptop DVD cables from AliExpress, and I’ve got a powered USB hub that can handle up to seven drives. I stopped at four—for now—only because I ran out of spare DVD drives. But don’t worry... I’ve got more on the way from old laptops, and I fully intend to go full-stack soon. 😎Why I Made ThisI absolutely love 3D printing—there’s something magical about having an idea and turning it into a physical, problem-solving object.
