Disillusioned with humanity and God, Spencer sought extreme pleasures and forbidden experiences, which led him to solve the riddle of the Lament Configuration, a puzzle box that serves as a portal to Hell. Upon opening it, he was transformed into a Cenobite, an extradimensional being who does not distinguish between pleasure and pain.
