The Mistral was originally developed by the French company Aérospatiale, which later became part of MBDA. The missile system has been produced since 1988 and is in use in 25 countries. The missile has a length of 186 cm and weighs 18.7 kg. The Mistral can reach a maximum speed of 800 m/s and has a range of 6 km.
